The top 8 Global Outsourcing Cities in the world includes as many of the six Indian cities led by the Bangalore, this is according to a study by the CyberMedia’s publication Global Services, the media platform for the global Information Technology outsourcing and Business Process Outsourcing industry and Tholons of a global investment advisory firm. In the list, the other Indian cities are Chennai, Delhi National Capital Region, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune. The Indian’s representation in the top 50 Emerging Global Outsourcing cities has grown to four from the last year. This is with the addition of the Jaipur to the list at no 31. The other three cities in the list includes the Kolkata at the sixth position.
The Chinese cities dominate that the list with the six cities, the Cebu City in the Philippines, Shanghai in China and Beijing in China also lead the list of the emerging global outsourcing cities. The other Chinese cities are Shenzhen, Dalian, Guangzhou and the Chengdu. The top 50 emerging Global cities in 2008 list has nine entrants, the Quezon City, Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Jaipur, Singapore City Chengdu, Guadalajara and Mandaluyong City. Beside the tier-1 Asian cities, the outsourcing centers are being set up many tier-2 and the tier-3 cities. The study has also short listed tier-II cities around the world which have the potential of moving into the top 50 list. It includes the Nizhnly Novgorod Cork, Republic of Ireland, Tianjin, Bacolod City and Amman.
The study said that the Indian outsourcing industry is set to flourish a further with the supportive government and flavorable outsourcing conditions while the pointing out the Chinese dominance in the outsourcing segment.
