For a long while yet, contrary to what some naysayers of outsourcing are saying. In a previous article, competition in outsourcing becoming very stiff now, this is with the industry expanding as is what professional services firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers surmised. Everyone wants a piece of the cake but when everyones toting the same salver its a bit difficult to decide to whom to give a piece to. They are forming partnership, the strategic partnership is the term and that is what the companies are doing. Take the Fortify and Keypair Technologies, Liquent and Take Solutions, Hexaware and EbaoTech or the most well known of the bunch, Wipro and the main street America Group. The companies forged their strategic partnerships to help them broaden their reach and improve their offerings.
They are refocusing their business, the very nature of the outsourcing is that it allows to focus on the business, the outsourcing companies themselves should already be experts with it. It was not so surprising when the news came that Convergys will be able to focus on their business and as their CEO, it provides the opportunity for the convergys to focus their investment and efforts in the growing their customer management and Information Management businesses, and the convergys is not the only one who is refocusing their business.
This is in the line with the adopting a pay per use business model wherein customer will be paying only for what they use and what is the results that they achieve. This increase the risk and the way that they can make money when the platform is shared, they can not make money is when the platform is shared. They can not make money on a single deal because competition will make sure that their margins are very less and they have to remember that they need to share the revenues with the other vendors. By focusing on less ventured waters, Infosys is ensuring that they will get a nice foothold in the market. They are going green .
