The main commercial, business and financial hub of Eastern India is Kolkata, formerly named as Calcutta. The East Kolkata IT Park located at Nonadanga, Kolkata will be the fourth such aim of the West Bengal government. It is settled by the chief minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, its goal is to attract more IT firms and produce more profession in West Bengal. Within 2 years, the IT park would be completely operative, the park would have Infrastructure Management Centre and Regional Skill Development Centre plus hardware, telecom and networking laboratories to produce more employment. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee stated that certain big IT firms have already showed interest in building their facilities in the park.
According to the chief minister, they are trying to build more IT parks in Siliguri, Kharagpur and Durgapur which will give more jobs for fresh graduates in the region. Debesh Das, the West Bengal IT minister claimed that the park gives progress with the state’s industrial development. On the other side, HCL also have plan to set up a center of excellence that would act as the company’s regional headquarters, more than 1,500 are going to employed at the hub. K.K. Singh, Rolta chairman said that they are going to invest Rs 250 crore which is equivalent to $55.02 million and build a software research and development unit. Kolkata is home to many nationally and internationally institutions and colleges that supplies a quality skilled workforce.
